The next outing:

There are no outings being arranged at present.

The last outing: was to he Warner Textile Archive, Dunmow and Gainsborough`s House and Archive, Sudbury, on Friday 16th October.

At both venues we were treated to extremely interesting talks, and very pleasant hospitality!

The Warner Textile Archive is well worth a visit for those of you who did not come on the trip. The many different textiles on display are beautiful in themselves, and the history attached to Warners was fascinating to hear.

At Gainsborough's house, we were first given a short, interesting  talk covering the life of Thomas Gainsborough, then after perusing the exhibition and displays we were shown into the archive study room, where an enthusiastic researcher explained Gainsborough's techniques, by means of examples of his sketches, drawings and prints. We all came away impressed, and with a deeper understanding of the artist.
